OK, I have to admit, I don’t have any kids, nor am I planning to have one any time soon. Still, since I consider myself an interior design expert-to-be, I might just as well offer you some fresh kid’s bedroom ideas!

Nowadays, parents are advised to encourage children to develop their own taste and preferences from an early age. However, much can be done to stimulate their senses, thus the importance of having a creatively decorated kid’s bedroom. Some of you might struggle not to cross that fine border between artistic and tacky, between stimulating the senses and overloading them, between fun and plain scary.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to scare you into picking up the yellow pages and hiring the first interior decorator you can find. It is more than easy to decorate your child’s bedroom all on your own, and it can be entertaining, too. If your baby girl loves fairy tales about princesses and knights, go for Disney-themed room décor, for instance.
Before I get off track with today’s post, and list alternative kid’s bedroom decoration ideas, let me tell you something essential – combining colours is the most important part of the process. Once you get that right, all the rest is (forgive the pun) a child’s play. Essentially, I intend to show you how to incorporate vivacious hues and tones into the colour palette of the room.
Neutral Yellow Bedroom
So, you are not a big fan of “blue – for boys, pink – for girls” decoration scheme. No problem, neither am I. When it comes to neutral, soothing colours, the first one that pops in mind is yellow. Skip all the psychological nonsense about it having the ability to tense the senses. As far as I am concerned, it is cute, vivid, fun, and has fabulous shades with which you can “play around”. Green and Blue Kid’s Bedroom
In case, you or your kid desire a fairy bedroom design, you can go with green and blue. These two colours can be combined to create an interesting, colorful décor. Just take a look at this suggestion, and see, if it is the right fit for you:

The Fun Child’s Bedroom:
It is a kid’s room! Don’t be afraid to use fairy-tale elements or bold colour combinations to make it work! When it comes to designing the perfect refugee from the harsh reality, the sky is the limit as to what you can come up with! My advice, whatever you do, don’t forget throwing in a fetching rug or a carpet. Not only does it provide a safe, soft floor space for you child to play on, but it also completes the room design.
